We invite you to an insightful journey using the power of our hands. Within this 3hr workshop we will explore the natural power of touch on your body and the material clay. This workshop is a collaboration between Marie-Sophie Kiepe & Anke Buchmann: Work with Marie-Sophie Kiepe, a complementary medical practitioner, healing artist and embodied researcher and ceramic artist and facilitator, Anke Buchmann. What to expect: Embark with us on a voyage of touch, embracing the sensory realm within your body. Through the art of clay, craft a piece that serves as a poignant reminder of this moment's significance. Together, let's explore tactility, allowing feelings to guide our creative process. This is a journey worth cherishing. The workshop is split in two main sections: - Marie-Sophie will guide you through the sensory journey of touch related to our body. Here you will arrive in your body, create connections to yourself and learn more about the qualities and power of touch. Be prepared to move and explore your body from a different lens. - Anke will inspire and guide you afterwards to make use of personal sensations, gestures and images to create unique ceramic expressions in clay. What you get: - Aprons, materials and tools will be provided to each participant. - Get knowledge and guidance around body and touch. - Gain material knowledge & explore crafting techniques. - Firing service for your ceramic object. What to bring: Please wear comfortable cloth, that could potentially get dirty and can be washed with 40*C. We are looking forward to working with you. About the ceramic process: Anything that you create during the workshop in clay and you would like to keep, can be dried, fired and glazed in the studio. Ceramics usually goes throw 2 firings (1. bisque firing / 2. glaze firing). Both firings last a couple of days each and use a lot of energy. The first, bisque firing is included in the price. If you like to glaze your ceramic piece and have it glaze fired, you are welcome to visit the studio during one of the open studio times on Sundays between 11am - 6pm (price: 15€/hr + firing 10€/kg).
