Service Description

Prices include VAT (19%), materials and access to tools and aprons. Firing costs come on top (10€/kg). Next session: 22/5/24, 6:30-8pm The workshop Glazing Starter is a must, if you have never glzed ceramics before and wish to glaze your work during drop-in Sundays. It teaches you the essential knowledge and techniques to decorate and glaze your ceramics, using engobe and glazes to create unique ceramic pieces. It is recommended to have joined a workshop before with your own fired ceramics to be glazed. After this workshop you will be able to glaze your ceramic projects independently. You will leave this session enthusiastic about decorating your ceramics. This workshop will introduce you to the essential colouring techniques, including brush on, dipping, pouring, sponging and and understanding of alternative glazing methods. You will learn the difference between engobe and glazes and will be confident to understand the opportunities and challenges around glazed ceramics. If you have created work in one of the available workshops or during your open studio time in the atelier, you will be able to glaze these pieces during this workshop. Please bring your bisque fired ceramics (if you haven't done them in the atelier.) For your glazed work you can use the firing service (10€/kg).
