Next 4 week class can start: 23. November 4pm - 6pm. All 4 appointments will be: 23 NOV 2023 / 4pm - 6pm - Throwing Session 30 NOV 2023 / 4pm - 6pm - Throwing Practice 07 DEC 2023 / 4pm - 6pm - Trimming Session 11 JAN 2023 / 4pm - 6pm - Glazing work (after first firing) This is a pottery beginner's workshop in the Berlin studio. The price includes VAT (19%), teaching, materials and access to throwing wheel. During this class you will learn: - centering the clay, - throwing a cylinder, - shaping a vessel, - trimming for fine tuning - finally glazing the fired ceramic object. No previous skills or experience are required. This is a small class with maximum 3 people, which gives you the chance to practice on your own wheel and get immediate feedback und support from the tutor. The class can be held in english or german, based on the participants language skills. The work you created will be fired in the studio by the tutor. Firing costs come on top of the price (18€/kg including bisque and glaze firing). The course: During the sessions, the focus is put on the clay experience, material knowledge and basic skills on the wheel. The created work is then dried, fired and will be glazed by you. After the glaze firing you then can picke up your ceramics. This session is perfect for everyone who wants to learn the basic understanding on the potters wheel. After the course you can book the throwing wheel per hour to improve your skills by practicing individually. Special conditions: Also please be aware, that throwing with long fingernails can turn out to be extra challenging. I suggest to come with cut nails. In terms of cloth it is advisable to wear comfortable cloth, that can be washed at 40*C and shoes that are easy to clean. Better you leave to your dress and high heels at home. The workshop is aimed primarily at adults, but is suitable for people between the ages of 12 and 108.
