In this 4-day immersive workshop, we explore the full journey of making ceramics with awareness, care, and intention — from concept development to finished, consciously designed objects. Day 1 – Inspiration & Concept Development & Informed Experimentation Discover how ideas evolve into forms. Through guided exercises, brainstorming, and material exploration, you’ll learn to shape your vision while considering function, sustainability, and narrative. Engage in hands-on tests with clay, forms, and textures, exploring how your ideas respond to material qualities. Experimentation is guided by curiosity and informed by your growing understanding of clay’s potential. Day 2 and 3 - Handbuilding & Shaping Translate ideas into three-dimensional forms using handbuilding techniques. Learn to balance aesthetics, functionality, and ecological thinking in your design. Day 4 – Glazing & Finishing Bring your pieces to life with mindful glazing. Learn how glazes interact with fired clay and experimental forms, emphasizing both beauty and responsibility. Throughout the workshop - Clay Recycling & Conscious Practice During the 5 days we will explore strategies for minimizing waste, reclaiming clay, and working sustainably without compromising your creative vision. Understand how material choices shape not only your work but your impact.
