Leaving a mark
Finding form and freedom through the language of texture
Service Description
The price includes VAT (19%), material, tools & aprons. The firing costs will be calculated based on the weight (8€/kg for bisque firing). This workshop will be lead by artist and founder, Anke Buchmann. The workshop language will be targeted at the needs of the participants: english and/or german. About the Workshop: Clay holds memory. Every touch, every tool, every gesture leaves a trace. This 2-day workshop (3 hours each day) invites you to dive deep into the world of surfaces and textures — exploring how they shape not only the look, but also the form of your ceramic pieces. Across two days of guided experimentation, we’ll explore raw clay, slips, tools, and natural materials — tracing textures that lead to surprising shapes. Each session balances playful discovery with reflection, encouraging you to push boundaries while finding your own voice in the material. Inspiration comes from the material itself, from the process, and from the exchange within the group. Together, we’ll discover how texture can transform a simple surface into a powerful expression of character, depth, and individuality. What’s included: - 2 sessions of 3 hours each - All tools, materials, space - Guidance, Inspiration and Demonstrations by artist Anke Buchmann - A supportive, creative atmosphere that encourages exploration and exchange - small groups with room for personal development Note: - firings based on weight (8€/kg for bisque firings) - During our drop-in hours you can come for glazing your work. Who is it for? This workshop is open to both beginners and experienced makers. All you need is curiosity and a desire to explore. The workshop is designed as a shared creative lab: a space to exchange ideas, spark new perspectives, and learn from one another as much as from the material itself. Whether you’re an emerging maker, a design-driven thinker, or simply curious about clay, this workshop offers an immersive experience where experimentation and self-expression take center stage. What you take away: You’ll leave not only with unique ceramic works, but also with a deeper understanding of how texture can transform your practice — and the courage to experiment beyond the smooth and predictable.”
